Bloggers, editors, and designers share their favorite links from around the Web

“I bought a 110-year-old farmhouse earlier this summer and have been obsessed with finding the right chairs. First, I bought two elegant white slipper chairs that remind me of Billy Baldwin, who grew up just a few blocks from where I am living. Then, my friend, David Wiesand, gave me a Chinoiserie/Gothic faux bamboo and leather chair, another friend gave me a Louis Ghost chair, and I found a down-filled armchair at a tag sale. I think it’s time to stop.”

New Lighting

We are excited to introduce five new light fixtures to our line.

The Villa Chandelier
Inspired by the Villa Necchi Campiglio in Italy, the Villa Chandelier and Sconce are shown here in French Rubbed Steel.

The Villa Sconce

The Isabella Lantern

Also shown in French Rubbed Steel, this lantern was inspired by the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.

The 24 Sconce

An update on the double arm sconce, the 24 sconce has clean lines that easily lends itself to many interior designs.  The finish is galvanized zinc and the sconce is meant to have two small lamp shades.

The Marguerite Sconce

A sconce version of the Marguerite Lantern, the Marguerite Sconce is in Galvanized Zinc and pairs nicely with the Lantern.

The symposium will open with remarks by William Voss Elder III, curator emeritus of decorative arts at The Baltimore Museum of Art. A lightly catered reception with the speakers follows the talks, with viewing of the museum?s period rooms and collections. Participants are invited to spend the morning visiting the outstanding collection of American painted furniture at the Baltimore Museum of Art, within walking distance of Homewood Museum.
